Metrolinx is accepting Proposals for a SMS Next Bus Solution

Metrolinx is a crown agency of the Government of Ontario under the Metrolinx Act, 2006, reporting to the Ministry of Transportation.  It was created to improve the coordination and integration of all modes of transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).  Metrolinx’s mandate includes delivering the best possible transportation services today while leading the way to an even better, more convenient service tomorrow; making the best possible use of public transportation investment dollars; and measurably improving the quality of life in the region.

Metrolinx is issuing this Request for Proposals to retain a Proponent to provide the Services described herein.  Metrolinx intends to award a Contract through an open, fair and competitive process.

You are invited to submit your Submission for RFP-2017-IT-007 as more particularly described in this Proposal Document as required by Metrolinx, which Services relate to the acquisition of a new SMS Solution (“SaaS SMS Next Bus Solution”). 
The Services to be provided by the selected Proponent will include the following:

1. A configurable SMS Solution that addresses the customer communication needs of Metrolinx on the status of bus services to its customers; 
2. Implementation and support activities, including knowledge transfer and training;
3. Five (5) years of usage, maintenance and support services to commence after the SMS Solution has been implemented and accepted by Metrolinx;
4. Optional, at the exclusive discretion of Metrolinx, an additional three (3) one year terms of usage, maintenance and support services to commence after the initial five (5) years of usage, maintenance and support services has been completed;
5. Quality assurance and quality control; and
6. Project management expertise and governance.
