Supply and Delivery of Body Armour for Customer Protection Services Frontline
Officers

Metrolinx Customer Protective Services (CPS) (formerly, Transit Safety) has employed
the use of body armour for their Transit Safety Officers (TSO’s)/ Special Constables,
since approximately early 2003.

In late 2023, the introduction of a new section in the Customer Protective Services,
Station Safety Ambassadors (SSAs), introduced an opportunity to acquire body armour
to meet our needs.

Metrolinx has endeavored to create a specification for our body armour
requirements for the past three years. The purpose of this tender is to acquire body
armour with a new set of specifications that will align the three functional teams in
Customer Protective Services

The term of contract includes a three-year initial term with two (2) additional one-year
term extend options to be exercised at Metrolinx’s sole discretion.

Responses to the Tender will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. EST on May 6, 2024 through
Electronic Bid Submission (EBS) at the Metrolinx MERX Portal.

Bidders must download the tender documents from the Metrolinx MERX Portal in
order for their submission to be considered. Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any
or all submissions at its sole discretion.
