Metrolinx is accepting Tenders for Construction of the Don Yard Upgrade& Expansion
as more particularly described in this Tender Document as required by Metrolinx, which Work relates to the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of new train storage tracks, storage sheds, substation buildings, retaining walls, and other site upgrades as identified in the Contract documents.
The Work includes, but shall not be limited to:
Three New Train Staging Tracks for Future Mainline Conversion;
Compressed Air System Installation;
Signal Appliance Relocations;
Extension of E6 Mainline Track
Retaining Wall System Installation
Substation Building Installation
Two Storage Sheds Installation
Environmental Protection Infrastructure Installation
Site Lighting Installation
CCTV Cameras Installation
Site Paving Installation
Site Drainage Upgrades Installation
Site Fencing Installation, and
Relocation of PEM LEM shed.
A Mandatory Site Meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 50 Bay Street, Toronto ON, 14th Floor Boardroom, followed by a bus ride to the site at Don Yard .
Please use the elevators at 50 Bay Street entrance to access the lobby on the 14th floor. Bidders are to sign in with the Procurement Representative. The presentation will be held in a boardroom next to the elevators.
After the presentation, Bidders will be bussed to the Don Yard for a formal tour of the site.
Bidders will be responsible for finding their own parking. Bidders must be physically able to walk the uneven site terrain for a distance of approximately 3 kilometers. Meeting will end at 50 Bay Street.
Failure of Bidder to be present and registered from the time the meeting is called to order until the meeting is adjourned will result in disqualification from bidding.
Each Tender must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $750,000.00 in the form of a bid bond or certified cheque payable to Metrolinx.
ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSION will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on Friday July 8, 2016.

Your Submission for this opportunity must be sent to Metrolinx through the use of MERX EBS. Bidders shall be solely responsible for the delivery of their Submission using MERX EBS by the Closing, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Only Bidders who possess the following experience and qualifications will be considered for award of this Contract:
- The Bidder shall be COR registered with IHSA;
- satisfactorily completed in the sole opinion of Metrolinx, three (3) contracts for work similar in scope, size value (based on Bidders price) and complexity and in nature as “the Work of this Contract”; and
- the physical and financial resources to sustain and complete the Work.
Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any or all Tenders at its sole discretion.
