Tender Title:  Phase 3 – GO Transit Train Control System - Construction of a Business Resumption Centre at the Don Yard
Metrolinx is accepting Tenders for the construction of a Business Resumption Centre at the Don Yard, the Work includes, but is not limited to, modification of existing Don Yard building to rehabilitate the facility for continuous occupancy by personnel working in safety-critical positions and to house associated equipment. The facility will include the following major components: rail Traffic Control (RTC) Room with six (6) RTC workstations, one (1) Chief RTC workstation and one (1) technical support workstation;  Computer Room; Electrical Room;             Conference Room – including secure storage space; Signals and Communication Maintenance Area; and Infrastructure to support 24/7 GO Transit Train Control System (GTCS) operations (including, but, not limited to HVAC, UPS, generator, transfer switch, dual redundant communications and utility feeds).
Each Tender must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $200,000.00 in the form of a bid bond or certified cheque payable to Metrolinx.
A Mandatory Site Meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Don Yard layover located at 470 Lakeshore Boulevard East, Toronto, Ontario.

The Don Yard Layover can be accessed from Lakeshore Boulevard East, just East of Cherry Street.  Refer to the Tender Document Section 3.0 of the Instructions to Bidders for the detailed information for the Mandatory Site Meeting.
Contractors are to meet at the main entrance to the location and sign in with the Procurement Representative.
Failure of Contractor to be present and registered from the time the meeting is called to order until the meeting is adjourned will result in disqualification from bidding.
All attendees must wear hard hats, safety boots, safety vests and have safety glasses with them at the site meeting.  Attendees shall supply their own safety wear.  Metrolinx shall not supply any safety wear.  Failure to satisfy these requirements will result in exclusion from the site.

Your Submission for this opportunity must be sent to Metrolinx through the use of MERX EBS. Bidders shall be solely responsible for the delivery of their Submission using MERX EBS by the Closing, in accordance with the  Instructions to Bidders.
Only Bidders who possess the following experience and qualifications will be considered for award of this Contract:

• satisfactorily completed in the sole opinion of Metrolinx, a contract for work similar in scope and nature as “the Work of this Contract”;
• the physical and financial resources to sustain and complete the Work;
• the Bidder has achieved COR™ “Registered” status with IHSA, as of the date of Closing of this Tender Process; and
• the Bidder or its designated Subcontractor shall have satisfactorily completed two (2) projects involving construction of similar value, size and complexity to the Work of this Contract.
